Job Title: Junior IT Technician.
Length: 6 Month Fixed-Term Contract(extensions possible).
Location: Commutable from Carmarthen, Lampeter, Aberaeron, Tregaron, Newcastle Enlyn, Llandovery and Llanelli.
Salary: £16,000 per annum.
Start Date: March 2012.
Shift Pattern: 40 hours per week, working across two different shifts, early and late - these will be 06.00-14.00 and 14.00-22.00. I envisage that it would be early shift for one week, then onto late shift for one week and so on.
Our customer from the manufacturing sector, is currently seeking a Junior IT Technician on a fixed-term contract to work alongside a small team providing support for the IT Infrastructure across their offices/sites for the coming 6-month period. Working across two separate sites, this role would ideally be for an individual with some commercial IT/Support experience or someone leaving education seeking a challenging career within IT Support. You should have great enthusiasm for IT Support and a desire to forge a successful career in this area.
Working within this IT Support capacity, you will be responsible for the following tasks and responsibilities:
*overall software and hardware support for the site.
*ideally you will have good knowledge of supporting Windows XP, Windows 2000 and MS Office Suite as well as having some basic networking (TCP/IP) skills.
*some experience of working with Active Directory and Exchange would also be expected.
*providing technical support to staff.
*provide 1st Line support and gather information about any problems arising with the networks and systems.
*find solutions to problems and have a hands-on approach to support activities.
*have an adaptable approach which will allow you to learn and understand bespoke technologies quickly.
The company/site are currently undertaking a large number of IT/Technical projects, so this would be an excellent opportunity to join the team within a challenging environment with the opportunity to learn about a variety of systems and technologies.
