Role: Project Engineer Location: South WalesReporting to: Project ManagerSalary: £30,000Our client is an international organisation, renowned for its compact connection and sealing technology solutions for piping, vessel and pressure containment in the oil and gas, nuclear, processing, chemical mining and aerospace industries.
We are currently recruiting for an ambitious Project Engineer to join a successful manufacturing company. Due to the increase in new product introduction and increase in demand from existing products, an opportunity has become available for a Project Engineer with experience of implementing new products. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the Project Management Team.
KEY TASKS & ACCOUNTABILITIES: - Manage the development and introduction of new Projects and Engineering changes into the company.
- Have experience of monitoring capital spend in line with project requirements.
- Take an active part in Project Review meetings.
- Conduct reviews with suppliers and customers following feasibility studies.
- Create and manage Engineering changes in line with Engineering Change process.
- Present status updates of specific projects at key milestones and review stages.
- Report gateway deliverables on a monthly basis (plan vs. actual) at review meeting with functional representatives and directors.
- Effectively interpret and facilitate customer requirements through internal meetings and inter-departmental communication.
- Take forward off shore projects following successful completion of training.
- Work at other site locations of the client for short periods of time as and when required.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE- Must have a relevant Engineering qualification minimum HNC/HND and extensive career training and development.
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Project.
- Experience of Project Management within an Engineering/Manufacturing environment.
- Have an understanding of and be able to demonstrate problem solving / continuous improvement tools and techniques.
- Good communication skills
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.
- Ability to review and implement new procedures using correct process.
- Must be self motivated and a team player.
- Able to take effective decisions and to work within tight deadlines.
- Able to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals and groups selecting the most appropriate method ie: written, oral, etc.
- Ensure that all stipulated timings are achieved on or before target.
